ARTISTE PROFILE

Marvellous Benjy, whose name is Benjamin Ukueje, born in August 1979. A native of Sapele-Okpe local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria.  

MUSICAL CAREER: My passion for music started during my secondary school years while I was involved in many social activities such as cultural, literal and debating society while in school. During my final year in school, I was opportuned to meet the Late John Nabena a.k.a Johnny Nabs, a music icon and the number one custodian of Dance Hall (Raga Dub Chapel). Through him my career as a musician was born, so I started performing live at the chapel, from there I became one of the most favorites among the fans of Raga Dub Chapel, with a stage name “Tiger Fresh”. This is due to my tiger like move dancing step, which I adopted.

   There I met the likes of Rasta Tony Thunder and Mighty Mouse of which I later joined their crew as an Apprentice Studio Engineer, where I later become a Producer/ Studio Engineer. This improved my stage performances and of course boasted my track record in the entertainment industry.  

My first album titled “ New Dance” was released in Dec 2003, which was a great success and it gave me so much publicity both in and outside Nigeria. It was part of the keys that won me a record deal with Kennis Music, where my second album was released in November 2005 and currently by the grace of the Almighty God, Nigeria’s most popular dance hall album. Being the medias delight (Radio & TV Stations), it won me the Nigeria Music Award and Nigeria hip-hop Award in 2005 as the Best Reggae/Ragga album of the year. It is a fear worth the while. I believe the best is yet to come.

    After my first Album till date, I have been opportuned to perform live in over fourteen states of the Federation and the in over fifteen universities and campuses, some of which include Delta State University, University of Benin, University Of Calabar, Lagos State University, Etc.

    I have also performed in over 28 night clubs, and in quite a number of concerts, like the popular annual KENNIS MUSIC EASTER FIESTA since 2004 till date, I have also performed along side popular International Reggae stars, like Bennie Man and Wayne Wonder in 2005. I had also gone on Musical tour with one of most Nigeria’s most loved shows “Rhythm Unplugged” which has taken place in several states like, Port Harcourt, Lagos and the country’s Capital Abuja.

PRODUCER/ENGINEER:

As a Producer and Engineer, I have worked with artistes like Black Face in his Album titled “Danfo Drivers”, African China in his album “Crises” Abass Akande a.k.a Obesere, my own album “New Dance”, “Take Control”, and a host of talented and upcoming artistes in and outside Ajegunle, Lagos State, Nigeria.
